Due to the peculiarities of the appearance, taste of berries, table types are not difficult to distinguish from the wine ones. What is the difference between wine grapes and table grapes?

Grapes can be table and wine (technical). Unlike technical grapes, table grapes are used to make desserts and fresh consumption. It is this grape to get to decorate the table for the holiday. It has large berries, most often large clusters, and has a rich, sweet taste. Seeds can be in small quantities, although sometimes they are not at all.

At the same time, technical varieties are very sugary, oddly enough. Their berries are smaller, but they give a more concentrated juice, suitable for making wine.

New grape varieties are constantly being created. It is difficult to distinguish only a few of the best species among the great diversity. Nevertheless, professional winegrowers note that the best varieties of table grapes must have certain characteristics. What should be the ideal table grade?

  • Suitable for growing in most climatic zones.

  • Bushes are frost-resistant and drought-resistant.
  • Cluster size - medium. This is optimal for sale and for food.
  • The berries are large, symmetrical, dense, presentation.

Early varieties of table grapes are in great demand among winegrowers who grow crops for sale. As a rule, they are characterized by high sugar content and are well tolerated in transportation.

  • "Saffron morning" - large-fruited, early hybrid. Ripens in 100-110 days. The bush is vigorous, tall, forms many stepsons. Flowers bisexual. Clusters in the form of a cone or shapeless, not dense, often friable, weighing 0.7-1.5 kg. The berries are pink, large, elongated. The average weight is 18-20 g. The taste is pleasant, and sugar and acid are felt to a degree. The flesh is juicy, fleshy, the peel is medium in thickness, there are pits, but not many. Sugar content 18% with acidity 6-7 g / l.
  • "Highlight" - large red grapes. Bushes develop quickly, the vine ripens well. Clusters grow beautiful, weighing 0.5-0.7 kg, not very dense. Flowers for women. The berries are red or burgundy, weighing 11 g on average. The flesh is dense, as is the peel. The taste is pleasant, without frills. The variety is well pollinated, resistant to pea, frost resistance to -22 ° C, but the grapes need proper care. Sugar content 17% with acidity 4-5 g / l. May be affected by fungal diseases.
  • "Transfiguration" - Hybrid grapes ripening on average for 105 days. Vigorous, forms many stepsons. Flowers bisexual.   • "Giovanni" - This is one of the best dining hybrids, known throughout the world. Ripens in 100-105 days. Bushes develop quickly. The main difference is carved leaflets. Clusters of 0.5-1 kg, the average density. The berries are elongated, large, weighing about 12 g, almost burgundy. The flesh is elastic, the skin is dense. The taste is pleasant, sweet. The grapes are resistant to many diseases, drought and frost down to -25 degrees. With a long overexposure on the vine, the berries dry out.

Medium table grapes are used for selling, cooking, preserving and fresh food. They, like the early varieties, give sweet berries that can be well kept.

  • "Stars in shock" - This is a unique sort of jellyfish. Ripens on average for 135 days. The clusters are large, weighing 0.8-1.2 kg in the form of a cone. There is no bone. The taste is very good - this is one of the best table varieties! It is distinguished by the fact that berries after ripening can hang on the branches for a long time, gaining sugar content, and at the same time do not spoil.
  • Baikonur - high-yielding variety. Bushes vigorous. Berries grow to 14 g, elongated, purple. The sugar content of the berries reaches 20%, the acidity is not more than 8 g / l. The taste is harmonious. The flesh is firm, crunching when biting. The rind is dense, but eaten. Suitable for long transportation.
  • "Lady fingers" - one of the most famous table varieties. Flowers bisexual. Clusters grow at about 400 g, but there are more. The berries are elongated, the peel is covered with a waxy coating. Differs absence of pits. The taste is sweet, the smell is pronounced, strong. Unfortunately, the variety does not tolerate drought, has poor immunity and low frost resistance.

The berries are large, can grow up to 15 g, oval-shaped, from pink to dark pink. The taste is sweet, rich, muscat flavor. The rind is thick, but you can eat it. The grapes after ripening can be stored for a long time on the vine, it is not peas, it accumulates sugar well and is recommended for sale.
  • "Odessa Souvenir" - productive variety, ripening on average for 142 days. Bushes grow quickly, they are very powerful. Clusters in the form of a cone, friable. The berries are large, elongated. The skin color is black, there is a noticeable bloom. There are 3-4 seeds in each grape. The variety is resistant to many diseases characteristic of grapes, but has low frost resistance.

Table grapes are predominantly grown for sale, on an industrial scale, but often they are also planted just for food, on private grounds. These varieties are characterized by capriciousness, they require quality care, but for all their shortcomings, they do not lose popularity due to the taste of large, sweet berries.
